make a wish, little bear

Once there were two bears,
Big Bear and little bear
Big Bear is the Big Bear
and, little bear is the little bear.



little bear was wide awake, and didn’t want to go to bed.
“Lets play a game, Big Bear!” said little bear.



Big Bear laughed and said “Ok, little bear, what would you like to play?”

little bear sat and thought for a moment, then shouted, “Big Bear Says!” Big Bear Says is one of little bear’s favorite games.



And so they began…


“Big bear says, Jump!”

…So little bear jumped

“Big Bear says, Stand on your head!”

…so little bear stood on his head.


“Wave your hands!”

Big Bear didn’t say Big Bear says, so little bear did not wave his hands, he stood perfectly still.



“Big Bear Says, Touch your hind paws!”

…so little bear touched his hind


“Give me a hug”


Little bear ran to Big Bear and gave him a hug!


Big Bear laughed, “little bear, I didn’t say Big Bear Says, that one gets you every time!”
Little bear, still curled up in Big Bear’s arms, looked up and said, “Big Bear, I’m still not ready to go to bed, can we go for a walk through the woods, please?”


Big Bear looked down and smiled at little bear. “Sure, little bear, it’s a beautiful night. Look at all of the stars, they are shinning so bright.”


And so they walked.


And walked.

And walked.


To the very center of the woods, where there was a clearing. They sat down and looked at the stars.


Big Bear gently touched little bear’s shoulder and said, “Look at that shooting star! Would you like to make a wish on it, little bear?”


Little bear looked up in awe and nodded. He closed his eyes and became as still as a statue. With a deep breath he made his silent wish.


Big Bear asked, “What did you wish for, little bear?”

Little bear looked up at Big Bear and said, “Big Bear, if I tell you it won’t come true!”


And with a secretive smile on his face, he thought about his silent wish, and hoped that tomorrow they could play, “Big Bear Says” again.


With that thought Big Bear and Little Bear held hands and walked all the way…
